Kate Mandalov

Kate Mandalov has been writing since she was four and a half years old, starting with short stories she wrote for friends in school. In high school, she discovered a love for theatre and script writing. Through her time at school, she wrote several short plays which have been performer for drama classes.

During years 11 and 12, she also studied playwriting through the Australian Playwrights Centre, and various other forms of script writing including Film, Television and Radio with the Australian Writer’s School.

After commencing her studies at the University of Adelaide, Kate’s short play ‘Naughton’ was selected as a winner for the State Theatre Company’s Young Guns Playwriting contest and was performed in front of David Williamson. Before graduating, the University Theatre Guild workshopped and performer Kate’s first two-act play ‘Rebecca’s Story’.

Now Kate is studying stage management to pursue a career in theatre, as well as hoping to make a career from her writing, whether it be in stage, TV, film or radio (or all the above).
