Submission Details

Introduction

The Drama Pod is dedicated to bringing writers stories to life. I have a team of talented artists, writers and actors for this purpose.

Every month we will choose a submitted script from outside of our team and make it available as a podcast radio drama. We will act

out your story and it will even have cover art.

This will give you the opportunity of being heard on the internet and maybe even the chance of drawing enough fans for publishers

to take notice of you.

Genre

Your script can be of any type of genre(horror, fantasy etc) at this current time. It may vary occasionally depending on the demands

from our subscribers but that won’t occur till a later date. You can write anything you like just try and keep it tasteful and be aware of

the appropriateness for the reader (no sex in kid’s stories etc).

Length

The length of your script must vary between 2000-7500 words. If you have an idea for a longer story then by all means submit it but

try to divide it into episodes. Experience tells us that the audience can only listen to a story for about 45-90 minutes depending on

their situation. It should also be noted that the more successful serials usually leave some type of ‘cliff hanger’ for your audience, give

them a reason for wanting more of your work.

Format

I prefer that you send your script in word format. We won’t accept scanned hand written documents, books etc its just too awkward.

Cover

Make sure your document has your name on it so we know who to contact and also we can state the name of the author. We will also need

an email address, word count and the genre you think your story fits into. A summary of your story would also be nice but not essential.

Legal stuff

You work is protected under the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives. This simply means that anyone can download your story and

listen to it for free. If they wish to pass your podcast story onwards they can but they must always acknowledge the work is written by

you the author. They also cant sell it, alter the story etc.

We will be looking at selling stories on the internet next year when we have a big enough fan base. Those who have contributed this

year will have a higher preference. More about that later on.
